Presidential candidate for the NPP, Dr.Mahamudu Bawumia has gifted ailing Gospel musician Yaw Sarpong a Ghc100,000 when he visited him to offer words of encouragement and also to wish him well.

Recall that months ago, it was revealed that the legendary gospel musician, Yaw Sarpong was battling with stroke and when the news earlier broke, it went viral with many expressing concern given how he’s being impactful with the many songs he’s blessed us with.

His manager Nana Poku Ashis who disclosed the news of the condition of his artiste back then also added that they needed some financial support and also prayers as the musician battles the sickness  and it seems, that call has finally also caught the attention of Bawumia.

In a video shared on X by Edhub, the Ashanti Regional chairman of  the NPP, Chairman Wontumi who led Bawumia and his team to go see the musician disclosed that the purpose of their visit was to assist and also encourage the musician.

“I told Dr. Bawumia about your condition, and he decided to visit you and evaluate your situation before leaving the Ashanti Region. He wanted to see how you are faring, shake your hands before leaving although it was not part of his campaign plans.” Chairman Wontumi is heard saying in the video.

In the video, you could tell the musician struggles with speech, and so his spokesperson thanked the vice-president on his behalf and in an emotional moment, Nicholas Omane Acheampong led people to sing one of his most famous songs, “Wo Haw Ni S3n” and I must say it made me teary watching at that instant.
