Protestors invade Kenya’s parliament over government’s plan to increase taxes

There’s serious tension going on currently in Kenya as thousands of Kenyans protest over an anti-finance bill, government wants to pass and per reports Ghbase News has gathered, there have been several casualties.

Reports from several Kenyan news websites also say the anti-finance protestors have been able to breach parliament after they were able to overrun the police who had set up a ring around the parliament.

At least 50 people have been reported injured by gunfire, per reports on Tuko.co.ke, and parts of the parliaments have been set on fire.

The situation in the country has captured the international media with CNN also reporting on the ongoing violence in the country.

There have been several demonstrations for days by citizens to get the government to cancel a bill that it intends to raise an additional $2.7 billion in taxes and that would increase the cost of living in the country and make things even far worse.
