Ghana Black Stars coach, Otto Addo has named his favourite music stars in Ghana and on the continent. “I like Shatta Wale,” he said. Stonebwoy? There was no mention of Baafira hitmaker.

In the past few weeks, three personalities in sports and entertainment have been hot topics in the country.

One of them has been Otto Addo, who led Ghana to victories against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The other two have been Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, who once again got people talking in a much-discussed entertainment event at the University of Ghana.

Stonebwoy was said to have been the brain behind Shatta Wale’s no-show at an event at the University of Ghana campus where he was billed to perform on the same night Stonebwoy was to also perform.

It did turn out that Stonebwoy was not involved, clarifying in an interview that he had no influence in Shatta Wale not performing at the event he was billed for.

The discussions continue among fans and lovers of the two artists, but there is something else to chew on for the fans, and that is because of the national football team coach, Otto Addo’s preferences, as far as Ghana music stars are concerned.

It’s difficult to love sports and not love music.

The Ghana Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, demonstrated this in a recent interview with 3Sports, when he disclosed his love for music, naming some of the musicians he likes to listen to often.

In what is set to generate more discussions, the Black Stars coach named Shatta Wale as one of his favourite music stars in Ghana, going on to mention other musicians such as Kwesi Arthur, Black Sherif, and Sakordie.

“Even though I don’t speak Ga, I like to hear Ga. So I love Shatta Wale, especially when he talks and speaks in Ga,” Otto Addo said.

Conspicuously missing from Otto Addo’s list, though, was Stonebwoy, even though the coach acknowledged that there are a lot of good artists in Ghana.

Ordinarily, this is no news, but given the “rivalry” between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy at the moment, something that has gone on for a very long time, fans will most definitely make an issue out of this.

Some may not even support Otto Addo again for not mentioning their favourite artist in his list. Do not be surprised to hear some people bash the coach just because of this.
