Ghanaian entertainment analyst, Sally Mann, has issued a sharp warning to Afrobeat star King Promise, urging him to steer clear of what she describes as subtle attempts to rival dancehall heavyweight Stonebwoy.
Speaking on Adom TV, Sally did not mince words as she addressed the rising tensions believed to be simmering between the two musicians following the recently held Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), where Stonebwoy was crowned Artiste of the Year — a category King Promise was also nominated in and widely tipped by some fans to win.
“You’re a young artiste; we saw you come up. You started as a lover boy for the girls, claiming you like sexy girls. But now, your followers are trying to make you deviate and move from that lane to the streets,” Sally began.

Her comments come amid a flurry of social media debates and industry conversations that have pitted fanbases against one another, with some suggesting that King Promise deserved the top honour at the TGMAs more than Stonebwoy.
The narrative appears to have birthed subtle digs and comparisons that are feeding an undercurrent of rivalry between the two stars.

While neither artist has publicly confirmed any bad blood, Sally’s fiery commentary reflects what many entertainment insiders have hinted at: a quiet tension fuelled by fan-driven competition, ego, and the pressure to top the charts.
“Stop that silent fight you want to pick with Stonebwoy. Stonebwoy is way ahead of you. Anytime he mounts a stage, he sets himself apart from every other artiste in this country. So, you, King Promise, stay in your lane,” Sally advised.
She went further to caution the people in King Promise’s corner, implying that they might be encouraging a confrontation that could backfire.
“All those behind you, making you feel like you’re a bigger superstar than Stonebwoy and that you should disrespect him, be careful. Because if you try BHIM, your career could end quickly. You don’t have the fanbase for that fight.”
Stonebwoy, known for his commanding stage presence and loyal BHIM Nation following, has consistently proven his dominance in both local and international music scenes.

On the other hand, King Promise, with his laid-back Afrobeat style and romantic appeal, has steadily built his own niche, earning accolades and global recognition.
