In the wake of a heartbreaking tragedy that has left many Ghanaians in shock, the father of popular TikToker Hayford Boateng, known widely as GH Kobby, has spoken publicly for the first time—calling for calm, peace, and divine understanding.
GH Kobby is currently at the centre of a tragic controversy, accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend, fellow TikToker Yaa Baby, during a trip to Yeji in the Bono East Region.
As emotions continue to run high, his father led a delegation to the bereaved family to seek forgiveness and show respect.
“We should give thanks to God because He knows what He is doing.
“Based on what has happened, I plead with all of you to calm down so we can peacefully bury Yaa Baby,” the father said, addressing the family with a heavy heart. “As for my son, wherever he is right now, it’s good.”
His words carried a mix of sorrow and resignation, especially when he added, “Yaa Baby didn’t deserve to die, so wherever my son is, he should also stay there.
“I hope the family will give us the opportunity to be involved in the burial ceremony.”
Amidst the tears and tension, he also revealed the frustration they faced in trying to handle the aftermath of the incident.
“I received a call from Yeji, and I wanted the child’s body to be transferred to Kumasi, but the police investigator says they can’t travel from Kumasi for investigations.”
