Popular Ghanaian comedian DKB has called out telecom giant MTN Ghana over what he describes as a suspicious and disappointing change in its Turbonet data bundles.
In a viral video posted on social media, the comedian questioned how MTN’s new data allocation, though larger on paper, appears to finish much faster than the older package.
“MTN Ghana, what’s the meaning of this?” he began in his rant.
“When the data bundle for Turbonet was 92 gig, the one Ursula Owusu brought, I could use it for six weeks or two months and watch so many movies.”
DKB noted that the new bundle, which offers 214 gigabytes, surprisingly lasted less than three weeks despite lighter usage.
“I just bought one less than three weeks ago—this is my second movie I’m watching, and it is finished,” he lamented.
“The other one, I watched several movies and series—Squid Game, everything.
“Now second movie I’m watching and then normal daily browsing on phone… how can 214 gig last for three weeks when 92 gig lasted for two months?”
He ended the video with a direct appeal to MTN: “MTN please explain, because I don’t understand this.”
