On August 11, 2025, a serious aviation incident occurred at Kalispell City Airport in Montana when a Socata TBM 700 turboprop plane collided with several parked aircraft, sparking a massive fire on the runway.

The crash prompted an immediate response from Kalispell Police, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, and local fire crews, who quickly contained the blaze. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported among those aboard the downed plane or on the ground.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are now investigating the incident. Preliminary reports indicate the pilot may have lost control during landing, potentially due to engine trouble.

The airport was temporarily closed to allow firefighters to control the fire and investigators to examine the scene, causing disruptions to flights and local transportation.
