Ghana’s Criminal Investigations Department has officially reopened four high-profile unresolved cases, transferring them to its Cold Case Unit nearly nine months after investigations stalled without a single arrest or court appearance.
CID Boss, Lydia Yaako Donkor made this known on March 9, 2026, at a press briefing in Accra, confirming that the Cold Case Unit has taken over all four investigations and that no one has been brought before the courts in connection with any of them.
The four cases include :
Paulina Lamisi Akambodipo, the Tema West Constituency Women’s Organiser of the NDC, went was missing from her home at Sowutuom, Accra, on June 12, 2024. Despite initial investigations, her whereabouts remain completely unknown.
Stella Adjoa Potakedonko was found murdered in her room in Tema Gulf City on February 11, 2024. The circumstances surrounding her death and the identity of her killers remain unresolved.
Anthony Kudjo Tettey Ehiamah, an employee of Dizengoff Ghana, was murdered at Oyarifa on September 8, 2024, with the Cold Case Unit now reactivating that investigation with the aim of identifying and prosecuting those responsible.
The fourth case involves the fatal stabbing of Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Poley, a devoted Asante Kotoko supporter who was killed during a match between Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC following a heated altercation.
The CID is urging members of the public with any information related to any of the four cases to come forward immediately.
