In a scathing critique of Western media narratives, Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan has accused global powers of launching a calculated smear campaign against Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traoré as a prelude to assassination.
Drawing parallels with the fate of Muammar Gaddafi, VeryDarkMan claims that the first step in neutralizing an African leader who dares to defy the West is branding them as a “dictator,” “thief,” or “murderer.”
“That’s how they did Gaddafi. That’s how they’ll do Traoré,” he said. “They’re already calling him a dictator through media and protests in France — by people who don’t even live in Burkina Faso!”
The influencer criticized Western officials and outlets for suddenly questioning Traoré’s handling of gold revenues, despite staying silent during decades of foreign exploitation.
He pointed out that General Michael Langley’s comments before the U.S. Senate were part of a broader strategy to turn the world against the Burkinabè president.
“You didn’t speak up when France looted gold for years. But now that Traoré is using it to build schools and raise wages, you call it selfish?”
VeryDarkMan concluded with a stark warning to African influencers: Don’t allow yourself to be used. He urged creators, public figures, and media personnel not to echo Western narratives, which, in his view, are often tools of economic and political domination.
“Do not be their puppet. Do not help them kill another African giant.”
