Pastor Eric Oduro Asiamah, husband of the founder of the Heavenway Champion International Ministry, Patricia Asiamah, popularly known as Mama Pat or Agradaa, has explained the reasons behind his wife’s decision to adopt the name Josephine Asiamah.
Pastor Asiamah said in a video thus, “My wife told me that her name has been changed to Josephine Asiamah, a.k.a. Mama Pat.” He described the change as meaningful and spiritually symbolic.
According to him, name changes often mark significant transformations in individuals.
“In life, any person who changes their name often experiences a corresponding change in character,” he said, adding that the new name aligns with the spiritual work he believes his wife is currently undertaking while in prison.
Pastor Asiamah said the name Josephine resonated with him because he perceives his wife as engaging in “mightier spiritual activities” during her incarceration.
He noted that she is strengthening her ministry behind bars and performing what he described as “Josephine-like” works.
He further anchored the development in biblical context, referencing Jacob’s encounter with an angel.
He recalled that a name change preceded a blessing in that account and suggested that his wife’s situation reflects a similar spiritual pattern. Pastor Asiamah said he believes the new name signals fresh anointing and divine favour for his wife.
