Ransford Gyampo has broken his silence over recent allegations circulating on radio and social media, firmly rejecting claims of misconduct and calling them baseless.
In a detailed Facebook post, the outspoken academic and public servant addressed the issues point by point, vowing to defend his integrity and continue speaking out on national matters.
1. Why he chose to respond publicly
Gyampo says while many of his admirers advised him to ignore the claims, he believes lies left uncorrected can be accepted as truth in the minds of many Ghanaians. He insists his response is to clarify facts, not to dignify any coordinated attacks against him.
2. He denies involvement in recruitment claims
He firmly rejected allegations that he recruited 28 women and 2 men, stating that recruitment is not part of his role. According to him, the process has always been managed by a professional private agency.
3. He explains his limited travel record
Gyampo revealed that although over 38 travel opportunities have come up, he has only accepted four—with approval from the Chief of Staff. He invites anyone to verify this.
4. He insists he flies economy, not first or business class
In a bid to show modesty and transparency, he stated that he is the only CEO in Ghana who flies exclusively on economy tickets. He says evidence of his boarding passes for the four trips is available.
5. Legal action has been triggered
Gyampo disclosed that his legal team—and other lawyers not directly connected to him—have taken up the matter and would address the individuals behind the false claims in the coming week.
6. He reaffirms his commitment to public service and outspokenness
He thanked the public for their continued confidence in him and promised to remain vocal on national issues. He also emphasized his commitment to his role of advocating for Ghanaian shippers.
NB: Gyampo ended his note with appreciation to President Mahama for “resetting Ghana’s history” by recognising July 1 as Republic Day once again.
