Residents of Burkina Faso have publicly demonstrated their support for President Captain Ibrahim Traoré, following growing concerns over possible threats to his leadership.
In a video shared by African on X (formerly Twitter), people were seen riding motorbikes and moving through the streets while blowing whistles—a sign of mobilization and unity.
According to the caption, the message from these citizens was unambiguous: any attempt to remove their president would face strong resistance from the public.
Since assuming office, Captain Traoré has focused his leadership on combating corruption and reducing foreign control over the country’s natural resources, particularly its gold reserves.
He has consistently voiced opposition to what he describes as external manipulation by Western powers.
Reports have circulated suggesting that some international interests may be seeking to destabilize his administration, allegedly in order to gain access to these resources.
Although these claims remain unverified, they have sparked concern among many in the country.
