Nigerian content maker, Young C has become the toast of the internet after he pulled unarguably one of the biggest stunts in the world.
The young man was buried for 23 hours and came out alive.
In an update shared on his Instagram page, he confirmed that he was still alive after spending 23 hours inside the coffin.
Young C had prepared the wooden box with essential supplies such as a pillow, a hand fan, bedsheets, a power bank camera, and two light bulbs. He live-streamed his entire experience underground on his YouTube channel.
His whole underground adventure was live-streamed on his YouTube account.
Instagram was not impressed by his behaviour and chose to ban and deactivate his account because of a platform policy violation.
The young man shared his experience with his fans by saying; “I am still fine, I am okay. A lot of you might think something has happened, but nothing has happened, I am fine. My problem is just that I have run out of water, I might be forced to drink this (my urine). Guys, I am fine”.
Russian who buried himself alive dies by mistake
A similar thing happened in 2011 but it ended in tragedy. It involved a Russian man who died after convincing a friend to bury him alive overnight in hopes of receiving “good luck”.
The victim created a makeshift coffin with air pipes, brought a mobile phone and a bottle of water, and climbed into a hole he dug in a garden in Blagoveshchensk.
After his friend covered the coffin with soil and left upon receiving a call from the buried man confirming his safety, the buried man was found lifeless the following day. Investigators revealed that the 35-year-old victim believed that this extreme act would bring him lifelong luck.
“According to his friend, the man wanted to test his endurance and insistently asked his friend to help him spend the night buried,” said Alexei Lubinsky, a senior aide to the region’s chief investigator.
“We know that the victim was a computer programmer and that he has a small child.”
Mr. Lubinsky reported that the coffin had been covered with approximately 20cm (eight inches) of soil.
He suggested that the man trapped inside may have had his air supply blocked due to heavy rainfall overnight. Investigators stated that the superstitious victim may have been influenced by stories of self-burial found on the internet.
Interestingly, a growing trend among Russian bloggers involves supervised self-burial, with even the state newspaper Rossiiskaya Gazeta featuring an article on the practice.
This is not the first occurrence of such incidents in Russia, as last summer a man in the Vologda region convinced his friend to bury him in an attempt to conquer his fear of death. Unfortunately, he was discovered dead just an hour and a half later, crushed by the weight of the soil.
