Rapper Amerado has recounted how he once stormed a cemetery at 2:00 am to perform a ritual all because of the love he had for a woman.
In an interview with Hitz FM’s Andy Dosty, the Kwaku Aananse hitmaker disclosed that he showed up at the Ejisu cemetery at an odd hour—2:00 am—to carry out the ritual to woo a lady he loved dearly, what is known colloquially as for girls.
The rapper who has earned some considerable nominations at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards with the aforementioned song (TGMAs), claimed that as he stood by himself in the quiet graveyard as he sprayed powder amidst incantations to make his objective a reality.
Their relationship was brief because of a small argument that led the girl to return to her former state, even if the charm seemed to work at first.
“After I had mentioned her name and did the ‘for girls, I called her the next day and she was all loving. She agreed for me to pick her up, which I did.
“But when we were in the car, I accidentally snatched her phone and it fell and the screen got shattered. Right there and then, she got upset and asked what she was doing in my company and that was it, the ‘for girls’ did not work again”.
When the studio guests expressed doubt about his story, Amerado insisted he was not lying.
He said, “I know this is live, but I swear down, I’m not lying”.
Amerado displayed a sense of indifference when questioned about any remorse he may have felt for his actions. He expressed that individuals are capable of going to great extents in the pursuit of love.
Despite not achieving a romantic relationship with his crush as initially anticipated, he emphasized that they have managed to maintain a strong and amicable friendship.
