Yvonne Nelson is attempting to launch another ‘Dumsor Must Stop’ demonstration and is calling on Ghanaians to help her and in a release shared on her Socials, she has mentioned the name of Sarkodie and we are wondering why, given their recent history.
In 2015, Yvonne Nelson who many tagged as the Yaa Asantewaa of our time, led one of the biggest demonstrations against the NDC government demanding that, they resolve the dumsor crisis and there were a host of celebrities and influential figures who joined her to stage that demo, which in the end made the government of the day very unpopular and they subsequently lost power in the 2016 elections as Ghanaians were frustrated about the power crises because it collapsed lots of businesses.
So while reading her statement calling for help from Ghanaians so she can stage another one, she mentioned the many people who supported her back then and interestingly we saw Sarkodie’s name in the statement and we are here wondering why she would chose to mention him.
I’m curious because Sarkodie intentionally failed to show up on the day of the demonstration and used the excuse of having to play a gig outside the country on the said date and he was tagged a coward for abandoning a demonstration he had created the impression he was in full support of.
So it’s surprising that in mentioning the names of people who helped her, Yvonne Nelson decided to mention Sarkodie’s name in it considering that she had damaged her relationship with him when she mentioned him as her ex-boyfriend in her book “I’m not Yvonne Nelson” in which she revealed that she had to ab@rt her baby because Sarkodie had her he wasn’t ready.
Could it be that, she wants to catch some attention by mentioning Sarkodie’s name or she’s just being appreciative by mentioning him in her release despite their obvious feud?
Anyways, that’s just by the way. She says she needs the support of Ghanaians so she can stage another demo and is calling on everyone especially the guys at Imani Ghana to assist her like they did back then in 2015.
