American artist Lizzo recently announced her decision to step away from the music industry due to ongoing negativity and challenges in both her career and personal life.
The Grammy award-winning singer took to Instagram to express her frustrations, citing false rumours and a desire to distance herself from the industry with a cryptic message: “I quit.”
Lizzo’s recent announcement came unexpectedly, revealing her thoughts on potentially stepping away from the music industry following a period of body-shaming incidents.
It is uncertain whether she plans to take a break from social media or her entire career due to ongoing legal issues.
Despite requests for clarification, her representatives have not provided any further details.
Lizzo gained recognition with her album “Cuz I Love You,” featuring popular tracks like “Juice,” “Tempo,” and “Truth Hurts,” which earned her multiple Grammy awards.
However, her latest album “Special” faced controversy as three former dancers accused her, along with her production team, of various misconduct allegations.
Here’s what she posted:
“I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet.
All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”
“I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views,” she continued. “Being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look. My character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name. I didn’t sign up for this s—. I quit.”
