A-Plus who is known in real life as Kwame Obeng Asare has reacted to rumours that, he’s been convinced by the vice-president Dr. Bawumia to rescind his decision to contest for MP in the Gomoa Central constituency as an independent candidate.
A-Plus has stated that, he will never back down and that the rumours are not true because no one person or even prominent people in the NPP can influence him to change his mind from contesting for the Gomoa Central seat in the upcoming 2024 December elections.
According to A-Plus, he’s put in lots of work to resolve the problems the people in that constituency are facing and he’s very sure that he would win the seat and take it from the incumbent NPP candidate come December 2024.
The controversial former NPP supporter said this in a live post on Instagram and went ahead to urge his supporters to disregard the news of him wanting to withdraw from the race.
“I have heard people say Bawumia has spoken to me to step down from contesting as MP. When you hear such reports, disregard them, and let’s move on. Even though he is the Vice President and the flagbearer of the NPP, he cannot tell me what to do. He is very much aware of this.”
I have told them, that if anybody tries to do anything dirty in Gomoa Central, they will be humiliated more than what happened in Assin North. We are in total control of the constituency, they can bring all the money in the world and we will still beat them” —he’s heard saying in the live video.
The public and the people of Gomoa Central are advised to disregard any false news circulating about Bawumia requesting Kwame Asare-Obeng (A Plus) to step down, as there is no truth to such claims. pic.twitter.com/eUYhozMVRC
